Sassy Snowdrops is a lovely reminder of the freshness of Spring and the gorgeous colours that enhance the whiteness of these delicate, but beautiful little harbingers of Spring.

Cyclamen seeds are not often developed but they grew on my gorgeous plant

Flutter-by Oxalis - a play on words because the Oxalis leaves remind me of butterflies. The flowers are incredibly delicate and small, lasting only a few days. However, the next day there are more appearing.

Orchid Mania is a glorious study of these beautiful orchid plants. It's an ethereal painting depicting the delicacy of the flowers which are quite overwhelming.

Floral Burst is an absolute burst of colour and textural effects. The blue vase allows the viewer to imagine its full shape.

White roses have a serene effect as a painting. Challenging as always to capture white elements and get the form of the overlapping petals effectively, portraying them in full bloom and in bud.

These compact flowers seem to portray a juvenile yet joyous mood in this bold vase.

The flamingo plant is dynamic to look at and so vibrant in colour. A total pleasure to portray in watercolour and creating energy in the background.

It's interesting to focus on greens from time to time! It can be so difficult to create a wide variety to depict depth in the painting. Also it's challenging to create good form by focusing on close-up details with completely opposite leaf shapes.

While painting the freesias in particular I was transfixed by the fragrance emanating from this still life. It was as if the scent of the flowers was coming out of the painting! The vase was challenging but really enjoyable to paint.

This favourite flower of mine comes in so many colour-breeding varieties. I particularly like the 2-coloured versions.

This Xmas Wreath was painted online with Andrew Geeson, a great and loose watercolourist. I really like his style.

Alstroemerias have such a wonderful structure, especially the fronds, which are so delicate.

Lemons on a plate with shadows cast around

Christmas Cactus was painted when this plant was at its most prolific stage of flowering EVER.

I couldn't resist adding this frog to the fungal forest depicted here. He's such a cutie!
